Graiguecullen Youth Project

Graiguecullen Youth Project is based in Fruithill Community House, 40 Fruithill Manor.

What do we do?       

We provide a space for young people that is both safe and fun. We offer a wide range of activities for young people in the Graiguecullen area. These include:

  • Youth Committee – 1st & 2nd years – A group of young people that give a voice to young people in Graiguecullen and aid the development of programmes.
  • Junior Rock School – 10 – 12 years – A music programme in partnership with Music Generation Carlow.
  • Community Drop In – 5+ – A volunteer led space where young people from the estate can attend the project and engage in a wide variety of activities.
  • Computer games coding – 5th and 6th class – Young people learn the basics of computer games coding
  • Feel Good Friday – 5th and 6th class – A group where young people have fun while doing activities that contribute to positive mental health.
  • FRIENDS programmes – FRIENDS for life ( 8-12 years), My FRIENDS Youth ( 13-15 years), Adult Resilience (16+) – An evidence based programme that helps young people to develop effective strategies to deal with worry, stress and change. Teaches the skills required to reduce anxiety and promote resilience.

Who do we work with?

Young People aged 10 – 18 years.

What can Young People expect?

Young people can expect a safe space to engage in new activities and experiences that will enhance their social and personal development. Young people can expect to be involved in the development of youth-led programmes in the project.

What can Parents expect?

Parents can expect their children to have opportunities to gain new skills, knowledge and experiences supported through positive professional relationships with the staff and volunteers working in the project.
